James Murray Wells, Glasses Direct
James Murray Wells launched Glassesdirect.co.uk, the largest direct-seller of glasses in the world, aged 21. His achievements as a young entrepreneur have earned him a range of awards, including The Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Daily Mail Enterprising Young Brit Award.

Polly Gowers
Polly Gowers is a charity visionary, Internet entrepreneur and award-winning businesswoman. As founder and CEO of Everyclick.com, the search engine that has raised over £425,000 for charity, Polly is at the forefront of a new wave of social enterprises. Polly was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Ethical Business Awards 2007 and recently won the Blackberry Women in Technology Award for Small to Medium Business.
Sue Brownson, MD of Blue Bell BMW
Sue Brownson is Managing Director of Blue Bell BMW, which employs 248 people. Sue was President of the Retail Motor Industry and worked with their training company, and was on the Small Business Council from July 2002 until July 2006. She is currently on the Board of the Automotive Sector Skills Council, which has just merged with the Institute of the Motor Industry. Sue is also a Board member of the Royal Automobile Club. Peter Jones is a successful entrepreneur whose portfolio of businesses span many areas, from publishing and property, to recruitment and gifts. He is a well-known panel member of the hit BBC Two show, Dragon’s Den and has starred in and co-produced American Inventor in the US and ITV1’s Tycoon.
James Capper, Stoke City Council, Enterprising Britain 2007 winner
James Capper led, developed and implemented the strategy which resulted in North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone winning the national Enterprising Britain 2007 title.James’s enterprise spirit remains alive, with a small but growing property portfolio, and two other small business ventures. Claire Dove currently heads up Blackburn House, one of Merseyside’s original and most successful social enterprises, which provides opportunities for women in non-traditional sectors such as construction and IT.
